It reminds me of an multi period event a couple of years ago (not Kirby nor
Tewkesbury) where a member of a medieval group stood up in the pub, and in a
load-enough-to-be-heard-by-most voice announced that he thought that they
were the most authentically dressed group there.
He rose to go to the bar and I looked at him, and I will never forget it -
Electric blue velvet 'tunic', green lycra leggings and a pair of wrestling
boots slightly modified and laced up the sides. His belt was a good 6'7"
wide. Oh, and he had a paisley curtain cloak on. I thought this so funny, I
sought him out the next day and got a photograph for posterity.
Now no ones kit is 100% authentic - it can't be. But this was so far from
even being close to authentic - the information is easy to get, more so on
the web why don't they just do a little research on it?
In short, I despair sometimes!
