Thanks for all the advice. I have to be honest and say that they have
now received 'official' notification and have basically found out that
the committee (for want of a better word) consists of the chairman and
all the NCOs of the group, which of course are basically, his son and
his friends, so I'm beginning to think that you've all summed up the
group perfectly! I've also done some digging around and found out that a
lot of members have left during its history due to run-ins with its
self-appointed chariman (who is apparently chairman for life for his
'efforts' within the group.) In fact, when the news about this came out
a few others decided it wasn't worth staying in the group either if that
was how it was going to be. Basically the group has now lost half it's
members so maybe there's some justice!

It is a sorry state of affairs for re-enactment and it really gives it a
bad name. You expect politics in big societies but not one consisting of
15 people! I also think that they are much better off being out of it,
especially considering some of the stories I've been hearing about them
off ex-members.

Thanks for the offer of joining another group but they just want to take
a back seat for a while and consider things. It's not so much about them
losing their membership fees but they really loved what they were doing
and thought they were getting on well with the group. But it makes you
wonder how many people have been put off re-enactment forever by these
Little Hitlers.

Anyway thanks again
Rosemary Jones
