The 111eme took parts in the most important campaign of napoleonic wars, in battles such Austerlitz, Jena-Auerstadt, Wagram, Eckmul,Borodino, Ligny, Wavre and others. In 1812 the 111eme in Ney Corps took parts in the epic withdraw with the rearguard. The re-enactment group was created in 1992 in Turin (Italy), and was present in the most important re-enactment event in Europe. |

We can field a mounted troop of 16 men, including an officer and a trumpeter, to perform well under fire. The Association takes part in re-enactment events all over Europe. Its activities also include historical research into uniforms and into the military history of both regiments, the reproduction of uniforms, equipment and accoutrements. The aim is to portray the cuirassiers and carabiniers as authentic as possible, which also means a high degree of training for man and horse, which is upheld by exercises and drill every
week at a horse stables in The Hague. Able men are welcome to present themselves as recruit. |

We hold Georgian reenactment services in the church to commemorate Trafalgar Day and local man Jack Crawford, hero of the Battle of Camperdown, where we encourage our members to dress in Georgian costume. Our aim is to preserve the Georgian and Victorian heritage of the old parish of Sunderland. |

The militia units raised during this time were formed almost entirely from local communities, with a wide range of equipment (often obsolete) and trained by European mercenaries. We display the unique weapons and drill used by the early colonists, and our Living History presents colony life. The Virigina Militia is the alter ego of Sir Gilbert Hoghtons Companie, a Sealed Knot regiment. |

Most of the units belong to the Napoleonic Association out of the UK, but there is no requirement for such as part of the H.B. In fact, to be a part of the Highland Brigade there are no dues, applications or membership fees! Too good to be true? Read on, MacDuff! To date the "Brigade" consists of the 42nd & 71st HLI in England, the 42nd and 79th in Germanls visiting another unit) participate together, as little confusion happens as possible. |
