We are a group of 18th century re-enactors specialising in living history, sword display and musket drill. We represent the Jacobite period of 1745. We pay particular attention to our Highland costume and its historical detail. The Fairfax Battalia is a re-enactment group recreating military and civilian life of a company of soldiers from a period of the English Civil War (1642-1651). Consisting of the regiments of Nicholas Devereux, John Foxe, Robert Overton and Valentine Walton it's members of the battalia are spread far and wide; from as afar as Aberdeen and Plymouth. Sir Bevill Grenviles Regiment foote is a Royalist regiment raised in Cornwall by Sir Bevill and fought for Charles The first in his action against Parliament and Cromwell. They were often in the thick of the fighting and acquited themselves well on many occasions. The Regiment is run on family lines and members enjoy an informative happy invironment.
