The Rise of the Roman Empire to become one of the greatest that has ever been known is likely be the most well known part of this period of History. However there was much more happening within the known world at this time.

This particular section of The Historical Reenactment Web Site has information on the Roman Period but also of the period of pre-history leading up to the fall of the Roman Empire.

Little is really known of the period of Western culture leading up to the Romans, The bronze age moves to the Iron age and the great henges such as Stone Henge in England are built. Many more appeared across northern Europe such as the site at Carnac in France.

The first article on the period is A Roman Ladies Make-over by Sally Pointer. More articles on this period will appear in this section as soon as we receive them. If anyone wishes to contribute to this section please feel free to email submissions@montacute.net for inclusion of your articles.
